Four-row cylindrical roller bearings are almost entirely used on roll necks of rolling mill frames, leveling machines, and roll presses. Since these bearings are typically installed on roll necks with an interference fit, four-row cylindrical roller bearings are particularly suitable for rolling mill applications with high rolling speeds. Due to the fact that four-row cylindrical roller bearings can only withstand radial loads, they are installed in conjunction with deep groove or angular contact ball bearings, or with tapered roller bearings (radial or thrust designs) that can bear axial loads.
